Free Simulation Edition
This connection is ideal for testing all of the features Ninja Trader has to offer. It is *FREE of charge and has no usage restrictions. You can use Ninja Trader for real-time market, order and position simulation for testing new trade methods, practice or as a training aid. You can also use it to familiarize yourself with NinjaTrader. You do NOT require broker/data feed account to test drive the platform. Ninja Trader comes with pre-recorded simulated data (courtesy of Patsystems) that can be used for trial purposes. This data does not reflect current market conditions. Available instruments for testing are ES, NQ, YM, ZB and ZN. All other instruments will not display data.
True Mixed Mode Live/Simulated Environment
Ninja Trader is a true mixed mode environment allowing you to trade both live and simulated simultaneously. This allows you to manage a live trade in one window and a simulated trade in another.
Realistic Fill Engine
Not all trade simulators are created equally. Unlike many trade simulators today, Ninja Trader will NOT fill you instantly on a limit order once the market trades at your limit price. The Ninja Trader fill engine considers time bid/ask volume, and last trade volume to calculate fill probability. It also generates random order delay times to simulate real-time conditions when placing orders. The algorithm gives time credit (to model order queue position) to limit orders based on the length of time the order has been resting at one price. Therefore, an order that has been sitting for five minutes will be given fill priority over another order sitting at the same price level for only one minute. The Ninja Trader fill engine also takes into account slippage for market orders and simulated partial fills as well. You can rest assured knowing that the realistic fill engine is not giving you optimal fills that may falsely pad your simulated trading statistics.
